The Mastic Trail is a historic inland path located in North Side, running through one of the largest remaining areas of untouched dry forest on the island. The trail follows a route that was originally established in the 19th century, when it was used by people traveling between North Side and other parts of Grand Cayman before modern roads were developed.
The surrounding forest, often referred to as the Mastic Reserve, is considered one of the most ecologically significant areas in the Cayman Islands. It is home to native plant species and wildlife, including birds and reptiles that are rarely seen elsewhere on the island.
